LIATE DESIGN

No. 74

LIATE DESIGN oversaw a series of bespoke upgrades to this Victorian-style new-build family terrace home in West London. The client sought to maximise their budget for a strong return on investment while personalising the space to enhance its functionality and aesthetic appeal.

The brief was to create a minimal yet inviting atmosphere, achieved through a neutral palette that allowed the Vancouver quartzite stone to take center stage. LIATE DESIGN’s skilled team worked seamlessly to deliver a cohesive transformation across the kitchen, bathrooms, hallway, and living spaces.

This project involved a standalone kitchen renovation alongside additional upgrades designed to elevate the property’s style and functionality. The existing outdated shaker kitchen was replaced with a modern, sleek Italian handleless design. The base units were finished in bleached oak, while the tall and wall units were spray-painted in matt lacquer using bespoke RAL colors chosen to complement the natural honed Vancouver quartzite worktops and splashbacks.

Inspired by the client’s passion for hiking, the design drew from natural elements, with the stone’s veining serving as a focal point akin to a piece of art. The quartzite also informed the sage green tone used for wall paneling, which enveloped the room and extended to the large rear garden doors, creating a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.

To maximise storage, all kitchen furniture was extended to the ceiling. A breakfast bar was incorporated into the island, transforming the kitchen into a more social and casual space for family gatherings. The client’s love for art and photography inspired accent colours throughout the home, adding personalised touches that reflected their creative lifestyle.

In addition to the kitchen, bathrooms were upgraded with large-format tiles, custom vanities, mirrors, lighting, and taps, creating a boutique hotel-inspired aesthetic that exudes luxury and relaxation. Throughout the home, floors were sanded and refinished to refresh and unify the space. In the hallway, we opened up space beneath the staircase, concealing electrical cables and fuse boxes behind custom wall paneling. This provided much-needed open storage for family essentials, ensuring a clutter-free entrance. In the living room, we sourced and installed a stunning floating shelving system designed to house the client’s extensive library. The walls were reinforced by our team to accommodate the additional weight while maintaining a sleek aesthetic.
